Kody is the cofounder of Disability in Kidlit, a website devoted to the representation of disabilities in children's literature.Ĭurrently, Kody lives in New York City, where she teaches writing workshops and continues to write books for kids and teens. She wrote her first novel, The DUFF (Designated Ugly Fat Friend) when she was only 17. Kody Keplinger was born and raised in a small Kentucky town. She is also a featured writer for, a popular pop culture blog, where she reviews TV shows and movies. Kody writes for YA Highway, a blog devoted to the young adult publishing industry. She enjoys Thai food, Converse tennis shoes, and way too much television. Kody currently lives in NYC and writes full time. Since then, Kody has written two other novels, SHUT OUT and A MIDSUMMER'S NIGHTMARE. She wrote her first published work, THE DUFF, at seventeen. She always enjoyed writing and began working on novels when she was eleven. Kody Keplinger was born and raised in rural western Kentucky.
